We have adapted our itinerary to suit the flight schedule of Air France. If you choose another airline there might be modifications of the itinerary and additional costs due to additional accommodation and extra transfers

Travel by comfortable, air-conditioned 4WD, by motorboat to Tiwai Island, Banana Islands and Bunce Island (see itinerary).

Accommodation: 13 nights hotels and guesthouses with bathroom, AC and/or fan (at Freetown, Banana Islands, River No. 2, Kindia, Dalaba and Bel Air), 2 nights very basic campement with common long-drop toilets and bucket shower (at Doucky), 2 nights set up bush camp with basic common showers and toilets (at Tiwai Island)

Entry requirements:
Entry visas are required by all nationalities. Passports must be valid for 6 months and have six blank pages for the visas. A Yellow Fever vaccination and certificate is a compulsory requirement for entry into both countries. For more details see our “General Information” section.
Special requirements and useful trip information:
Please note that this trip is a tour for pioneering visitors. There is virtually no tourist infrastructure in Guinea and Sierra Leone. Only few hotels of Western standard exist, hotels with air-condition or hot water are rare. Roads are often in bad condition and roads and bridges may become impassable after heavy rain. The itinerary may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond the control of Vero Tours. There are a couple of long days of travelling, but it is necessary so that all the sites can be seen in good time. Hiking in the Fouta Djalon Highlands requires a reasonable level of fitness. You should tolerate heat very well and be sure-footed. The hiking tours are subject to change due to weather conditions. Our trip requires a spirit of adventure and a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
